What is house Healing and how can it help you?
Generally we are called in as a ‘last resort’, that’s OK we’re used to it!!
You know that feeling when you walk into a room or a place and your body makes an involuntary shiver – something just doesn’t feel right. You can’t place it, your brain is struggling to identify what has subtly changed, but has nothing to refer back to. It just feels a little ‘off’. Generally people are very happy to move away from the places that invite these feelings.
We’ve all the heard the phrase ‘you could cut the atmosphere with a knife’. We might say this when we have walked into a room where an argument or disagreement has taken place. We don’t hear the words spoken, we might take a look at the people in the room and their expressions. The energy in that room is uncomfortable. We can’t see it, but we can feel it. Energy doesn’t just dissipate, it transmutes. Sometimes we can see where it goes, think of pushing a wheelbarrow. We leave an energy imprint wherever we go. We have no choice. Every living thing leaves an imprint of sorts. This energy can be absorbed into our buildings and land.
As house healers we look at the energy of the land, the energy leys that may be under or on top of the ground, underground water courses – they can cause issues within the home. We look for spirit lines and trapped spirits – bumps in the night if you will…
I have a friend who lives in a house that was converted from an old stable block. The stable block belonged to the big house, which is now converted into apartments. She says that she has often smelt horses in her house. It’s not unpleasant, nor harmful – it’s just the energy making itself known. We probably all live with some sort of energies within our homes. As house healers we only work with the energies that are not compatible with the house and occupants.
House Healers tend to work remotely. I do. I find it a little overwhelming to go into a place and people ask me ‘What can you feel?, What can you see? It is much easier for me to work from my home base, where I can channel the information in a safe and productive manner. All I need is an A4 floorplan of your home. Weird? I know. I’ve worked with properties thousands of miles away on different continents.
Selling your home
I have been called in numerous times to see if there is an energetic reason as to why the house isn’t selling. Obviously I can’t do anything about the location, price or fabric of your home, but I can have a look to see if there may be a reason, somewhere along the line that is keeping the house stuck.
Let me give you an example:
I was called to see if I could help a young family sell their home. It had been on the market for quite some time and they weren’t even getting any viewings. The family were desperate to move, to be nearer relatives who could help with childcare, and to be closer to nurseries etc. In desperation they had put the house to auction and that was happening the following week.
They had 2 little girls (under the age of 2 – hard work in anybody’s book!) The youngest was very difficult to settle, there were no known health problems.
I checked in with the house to see what was going on, there were a few things, but the main was that there were 3 female spirits in the home and they didn’t want the children to leave. I worked with the ladies to explain that the family needed to be closer to ‘grannie’ and that whilst I understood their view it was time to let the family go onto their next chapter in life.
The weekend prior to the auction they had 2 viewings and 2 offers. It still went to auction (as per the original agreement) and actually realised far in excess of what they thought they would achieve. After selling the house, they then found the perfect family home in the right location and would you believe it was chain-free!
Another home I looked at also had a trapped spirit in there. He told me exactly what he needed. We put it into the house (which was empty) so a little bit of creativity was needed, the house sold.
You may well say that the above was all coincidence, and that’s fine, so long as the end result was achieved and the people involved were happy.

Tips for keeping your homes’ energy
We get stagnant energy in stagnant spaces. So if you’ve got that corner or room (and we all have) that you keep meaning to sort out, try and set aside the time to do it.
Remove the things that are no longer useful. If they might be helpful to another then take them to the recycling centre/charity shop. I find it better to set a small (ish) target.
Set aside a planned time to tackle the job. Within that time frame, build in a trip to take your items onto their next place. We’ve all been there, with a load of bags in the hallway or the boot of the car, telling ourselves that we will do it next time we go that way.
Do it now. See the job through. You will have shifted the stagnant energy, probably done a bit of cleaning and have the major satisfaction of knowing that the job is complete. Your space will immediately feel energetically better.
If you’ve had an argument in a room, and the atmosphere is still lingering, open the windows. Change the air and energy in that room. For extra brownie points ask that the energy you are letting out be transmuted into something better, a lighter, more positive energy.
Have a few crystals around the home. Rose Quartz is fantastic – it’s the crystal linked to love and understanding. Love for your home and love for the people within it. It doesn’t have to be a big stone, it can be anything you like.
